2019Camping/parking (wiped 1/21/20)

Your multi-day festival pass includes on-site tent camping. Car and RV parking is not included and must be purchased separately—see below for all details and options. Camping is designated on a first come, first served basis.  The fairgrounds have permanent restrooms and showers, and we supplement the facilities with ample portable toilets.

campingTent Camping

All patrons holding multi-day passes (2-day, 3-day, 4-day) may tent camp on site at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in designated camping areas. See map. There are two tent camping options available at Hangtown:

Walk-In Camping

All tent camping areas in the lower fairgrounds are considered “walk-in” camping.  Parking for those areas are located in the Tier Parking.  Parking passes must be purchased separately. Shuttles from these parking locations will be provided at the onset and towards the conclusion of the festival to help with transporting camping gear to camping areas, or it’s just short stroll away.

Mystery Meadow (Car or RV) Camping

Those interested in camping in closer proximity to their vehicle, may purchase a Mystery Meadow Parking Pass for their car or a Mystery Meadow Dry RV pass for vehicles 18 feet or longer (see below for more details).  Mystery Meadow camping is “close to” car camping (parking and camping areas are separated within a large field) and is located behind the Speedway Track. See map.

RV Camping

If the total length of the vehicle plus anything attached to it is 18 feet or longer, it is considered an RV and must have an RV Pass to park on site.  A general admission festival pass is also required for every patron attending (over 4 years of age).  There are two RV camping options available at Hangtown:

On-site RV Parking

Purchase of an On-site RV Parking pass enables an oversized vehicle to park within the lower fairgrounds.  RVs will be assigned spaces based on what is available at the time of entry. RV passes are entitled to a 20’w x 35’l space which must include the vehicle and any tents or shade structures.  Hookups (electric and water) are not guaranteed.

Mystery Meadow Dry RV Parking

This is a DRY RV Pass in the Mystery Meadow with absolutely NO electrical or water hook-ups located behind the Speedway Track. See map.

Parking

Parking is not included with festival passes. Vehicles are required to have either a Tier Parking Pass, a 4H Parking Pass, or Mystery Meadow Parking Pass.

Tier Parking is for multi-day parking, and is located in terraced parking lots within the fairgrounds. Walk-in camping is a short stroll away.  No car camping allowed with a Tier Parking pass. Re-entry is allowed.

4H Lot Parking The 4H Lot is located adjacent to the speedway within the fairgrounds. Camping is not allowed in the 4H Lot, and walk-in camping is a short stroll away into the campgrounds. No oversized vehicles, trailers, or RVs permitted. Re-entry NOT permitted.

Mystery Meadow Parking Pass: offers “close to” car camping (parking is near camping areas, all within large field).

Accessible Parking

Patrons with a valid, state-issued accessible parking placard or tag must purchase an on-site vehicle pass in order to park on site. Upon arrival, show the parking attendant your Vehicle Pass and valid accessible placard and you will be directed to our Accessible Camping, centrally located within the fairgrounds and in close proximity to accessible bathhouses.
